HLAC LifeLong Wellness Application Paper
1. What did you learn about 'Lifelong Wellness' from taking this activity class?
The biggest learning experience I had in the class was in what to eat. While I felt before I ate a good balanced meal, I found that there were changes I needed to make in order to get a better, more rounded, intake from my meals. I did further my knowledge in the other areas of the class, such as in the cardio and flexability. I felt the class presented the material of the class in a suitable way to make the information come naturally to myself.
2. How will you apply this information to your life?
I will apply this information in my life by continuing to follow the guidelines discussed in the coursework. I will try to follow up on some of the guidelines in the future to make sure that I have not strayed away from what I have learned this semester. I have already applied some changes to my regular routines that I will continue with in the future. I also look forward to furthering my learning on the subject to help strengthen my knowledge as I strengthen my body.
3. what is your intention to continue to exercise in your life and why?
I plan on continuing to exercise until I can no longer move about. I will continue doing exercise not just for the health benefits, but also because I enjoy a lot of the activities that are considered exercise. Activities such as lacrosse, hockey, snowboarding, hiking, rafting, and swimming are all things I enjoy doing, the health benefits are just an added bonus. I will also continue doing the exercise activities that aren't as fun, because I am a competitive person and want to be the best at those activities that I do enjoy!
4. General ideas for improving the course?
While the class is great and works well for someone who wants to learn the material presented, I found myself thinking at times that due to the class being all online, someone could get through the class without applying themselves too much. While most online classes will have this same problem, I can't think of any way to get around this. I just hope that most of the students taking the class take the material given in the class and use it to at least some degree to help better their lives. I feel a lot of the health problems so many Americans are suffering from today could be helped with the simple information given in this class. WIth a little bit of work at applying that information as well that is.
